| To have as many Native American/Aboriginal represented by two youth runners participating in the run as possible. | |
| To create speaking engagements for youth regarding the dire need to create a sustainable Future and peaceful relations through media and public events in towns along the four routes. | |
| To bring awareness to the effects of global warming and the accelerating devastation of glacial melting and the loss of northern wildlife habitat. | |
| Show support to stop potential oil drilling in Alaskan "Artic National Wildlife Refuge", which is the last great national wilderness that supports many species of wildlife. | |
| After completion of the run, to gather and participate in the activities of the Alaskan sponsored World Peace and Prayer Day - June 18th - 21st 2006 | |
| To form an active network of youth supported by individuals and organizations to creatively address the needs of youth today and the dire environmental issues that the youth have inherited. | |
| To participate in a WPPD Youth Forum to decide future projects and how youth can support each other in their respective communities. | |
| To further develop an International Youth Council. | |
| To create partnerships for peace between individuals, communities, and organizations.
